The image of twins, the repetition, the reflection, the mirror are all elements that are used to refer to the topic dealt in this newsletter: the double.
The theme of doubling had great spread between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries if we consider masterpieces of literature such as Stevenson’s “The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” or in psychoanalysis with the deepening of the discovery of the contradictory complexity of the psyche in Freud’s theories.
This idea of ​​the “other self” maintains a strong bond with the subject, often representing the opposite or its repetition.
